This duality doesn’t sit well with everyone in the neighborhood. He was born in the town of Tenares in the Dominican Republic. Reyes discovered his musical talent when he was a young boy. He and his brothers started their own musical group and had great singing talent. When he was only 12 years old, he decided to travel to Santo Domingo where he worked hard and had many jobs, always dreaming of having his own business. As he got older he recorded his first album Tu serás mi reina and became the self-appointed “prince of bachata” (El príncipe de la bachata). Biography: Monchy & Alexandra is a bachata musical group from the Dominican Republic. They sang together as a duo beginning in 1998. Their first big hit was “Hoja en Blanco”, which they released in 1999. Since then, they had many other hits, such as “Hasta el Fin” and “Perdidos”, both from their 2004 album Hasta el Fin, as well as “No Es Una Novela” from their 2006 Éxitos y Más album.
